Product Details

Steam locomotive 150 Y of the French State Railways. Drive on two axles of the tender and via cardan shaft on all five drive axles of the locomotive. ? Variant with smoke deflectors ? Fine spoked metal wheels ? Driving and coupling rods made of metal die cast ? With set of etched signs included ? Smoke generator retrofittable ? Z21 driver's cab available In 1943/44, the locomotive factory Société Alsacienne de Constructions Mécaniques (SACM) in Graffenstaden near Strasbourg built over 100 class 52 locomotives. In 1945/46, the SNCF ordered even another additional 17 locomotives. There, class 52 was designated class 150 Y. A unique feature of the locomotives was the shorter chimney, whose purpose was not to exceed the French clearance gauge. The class 150 Y hauled both heavy goods trains and passenger trains in the eastern region of the SNCF. They were in operation there until the end of the 1950s.
